From oils and creams used by Egyptians in 10,000 B.C. to protect their skin against the hot Egyptian sun and preserve their youth, to honey and milk masks introduced into their beauty routines to moisturize their skin, all the way to barley flour and butter used by people in Rome to treat their pimples in 100 A.D.; skincare has always been present one way or another all throughout history, with all the different cultures and civilizations who adapted skin care practices to their needs and expectations, as well as the prevailing beauty standards at the time.
Skincare has even been in our houses for decades. When we were children, we watched our grand-mothers by the stove, preparing natural blends and ointments with leaves, plants and flowers. To this day, we still remember the perfume that these concoctions released as the flowers and leaves melted together into a beautiful mix of aromas and blends used to revive and refresh the skin.
